Dear Prize Winning First Grader,

We've had many adventures in First Grade.  Which one do you feel was difficult?  Which one did you think was the most fun?  Remember, at the end of first grade, you get to tell me your thoughts and ideas.

All of us are looking forward to June, July, and August with the activities we will be enjoying with our family and friends.  Don't forget to include trips to the library and/or bookstore.  It has been so much fun to watch you with books in your hands these past few weeks and I encourage you to continue doing that all summer long.  I also know how much you enjoy math.  Get some flash cards with sums and differences through eighteen and say them one time five days each week.  If you do these two things, YOU WILL BE SOOOO READY FOR SECOND GRADE!

You will have a great year in Second Grade and a year ahead that will provide you with awesome experiences.   One of them is the Spring Musical which the Primary Department will be presenting.  I'm looking forward to seeing you in choir as we prepare for that very exciting event.

As we come to the close of this school year and the completion of another milestone in your life, I want you to know that you are SPECIAL...to God, to your parents, and to me.  God's love for you and your love for Him is the most important thing in your life today, tomorrow, and forever.  With that in mind, the last summer activity I want to encourage, and truly the most important one, is to visit God each Sunday in church and Sunday School.

I thank you for the many memories you've given me these past months.  My prayer for each of you is that your love for Jesus will continue to grow and grow all the days of your life.  God bless you always!
