Testimony:
I was converted as a child and am a third generation member
of the Church of God in Christ maternally and a second generation member
paternally. I was baptized with the Holy Ghost at age 18 during a revival at my
father's church. I am the daughter of the late Rev. Alvin E. and Mrs. Ima Lee
Bailey. I have three sisters and one brother (one brother, Alvin Jr., died in
March of 1999).
I am active in my local church where I have been a lifetime
member. I was a teen Sunday School teacher, Adult Y.P.W.W. teacher, a choir
president and public relations officer. I am active in this local church
whenever I return to the States. I also still sing in the District Choir and
State meetings when in the country. I am an Instructor and Member of the
Executive Board at the Institute of Teaching God's Word Theological Seminary,
Rockdale, Texas.
Vision/Purpose:
I have desired to go to Africa and work as a missionary
since I was a small child. I was greatly influenced by a former member of our
local church, Missionary M.M. Jackson. She was an active supporter of the
Missions Department of the Church of God in Christ and sent money and donations
to Missionary Lott, a pioneer missionary in Liberia (West African country). In
May of 1998, I was privileged to be a part of a short-term missionary tour to
South Africa which was sponsored by some local churches in Central Texas. I was
truly convicted during this visit that my childhood desires were inspired by
God. In September of 2000, I returned to South Africa as a full-time
Missionary. It is my vision/purpose to be a blessing there in ministry of the
word and in demonstration of the Holy Ghost. Any support that can be sown into
this sponsorship would be greatly appreciated. Please pray with me for the
success of my continued tours.
