Heaven Sent Ministry
We celebrated our two year anniversary on September 24, 2006. It's hard to believe that we have been delivering meals to the elderly and shut-in for over two years now. We started in the kitchen of the founders of Heaven Sent Ministry, Brenda and Frank Reynolds with only 8 people to deliver to. That was September 25, 2004 and now we are delivering to 186 plus people. Boy has God been good to us. He has blessed this ministry with so much. We would like to thank all the volunteers who have made this ministry a success. We would like to thank the Circle of Grace and Bethel Baptist Church for their continued support. Without God preparing the hearts of all of you for this ministry, we would not be where we are today.
Thank you and God Bless you all!

Bethel Baptist Church
Come and join the excitement!! God is on the move and spreading his mighty blessings at Bethel Baptist Church. We want to thank God for our pastor Bro.Ted Denny and his family for their kind, loving hearts and for the boldness our pastor has. We also thank God for the care that Bro.Ted takes in delivering the message so everyone can understand it and apply it to their lives. Bro.Ted brings the Bible to life right before your very eyes. There is never a dull moment. When you leave, you know you've been to church.

Our music director, Bro.Kenny Lannom is on fire for the Lord. He provides an amazing worship service like you have never saw before. At Bethel Baptist Church, we are blessed to have such a Godly man lead the way so energetically into the word of God brought forth by our anointed pastor. At Bethel Baptist in Cunningham TN everybody loves each other, but most importantly they love the Lord.

The Lord's Prayer
JESUS CHRIST
taught his disciples to pray this prayer when they asked:
"Teach us how to pray?"
*********************************************************
Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever.
Amen
Matthew 6:9-13 (kjv)
****************************************************
You may be saying...."Well, I'm not sinful. I'm a good person!"

The scriptures also say that "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), "there is none righteous, no, not one" (Romans 3:10), and that even our "good works are like filthy rags before God." (Isaiah 64:6)

One day, each of us will stand before God and be judged. (Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.) What will He say to you? "Well done my good and faithful servant?" (Matthew 25:21)

Or will He say "Depart from me, I never knew you." (Matthew 7:23)
God came to earth in the flesh for one reason and one reason alone; to redeem mankind back to himself. Sin entered the world, when man fell at the Garden of Eden.

If you remember, God gave Adam all he could ever want; He made Adam to rule over the garden and all that was in it. If that wasn't enough, He gave Adam a suitable helper (Eve) with whom to share it.

Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:
Genesis 3:5 When she saw that the fruit was pleasing to the eye and also desirable for gaining wisdom, Eve took of the fruit and also gave some to Adam.

Adam and Eve were banned from the Garden of Eden once and for all...and likewise were each of us banned from God's presence because the sinful nature we inherited from Adam. (Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.)

God wants to give us good things, but He gives us a choice.
Will we be obedient? Or will we listen to the voice of the one who wants to ban us from God's presence?

God will not FORCE us to become His friend. He desires our obedience greatly, but He will not force it upon us, because He wants our heart. He wants us to WANT to know Him, not to feel forced to do so.

He promises that those who seek Him WILL find Him! (Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.)

"Well, ok", you might say...."I am seeking God...so does that mean that He hears me and will give me eternal life? not yet, We have to ask him to forgive our sins and to come into our hearts.

Several of the prophets in the Old Testament spoke of One who would come to make a final atonement for our sins. He would be the perfect and final sacrifice. They told of where He would be born, what He would do, how He would come, when he would come, and even how he would die. (Micah 5:2; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 53; Daniel 9:23-27; Psalm 22).
Who is this One of whom they spoke?? It is clearly Jesus.
He came to do what man could not do for himself. "So what must I do?" you ask.

All we need to do is receive the gift of salvation which was given almost 2000 years ago. There is no salvation in any one church or religion but only in Jesus Christ. (Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.) Today, dear friend, is the day of salvation. This is the most important decision you will ever make....and the most exciting one. (Romans 10:9,10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.) Say this prayer to the Lord and we will stand with you in it.

Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you realizing I am a sinner and deserve eternal death. I ask you Lord to forgive me of my sins and the many ways I have failed you. I come to you accepting your free gift of eternal life knowing you paid for my sins in full. I believe you rose again from the grave and that in you, and you alone, I have victory over eternal death. I ask you Lord Jesus to write my name in the Lamb's book of life. I thank you Lord for allowing me to lay my face at your feet to ask for your forgiveness and for coming into my heart and soul. I ask you Lord Jesus to help me live as a Christian should and enable me to live the way you want me to live. Please surround me with other Christian believers so that I can fellowship with them and continue to grow in you and your word. I thank you Lord Jesus, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

**If you prayed this prayer and accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, If you have just committed your life to Jesus Christ, and have received the free gift of eternal salvation please do seek out genuine believers in Jesus for friendship. This is far more important than just "going to church." Jesus did not save you just to go to a church building, but to be the Church. For all that have made Jesus their Lord and Savior are part of the one true Church. If you have made Jesus Lord and Savior, followed with believers baptism then you are automatically a member of His Church---it's that simple!

What does it mean to be baptized?
In the Bible there are two sacraments (holy rituals), which Christians are enjoined to practice and observe: The Lord’s Supper and Water Baptism.

The purpose of both is to signify by outward symbolism, what Christ has accomplished in a believer's life through faith in Christ. As true believers, we are both instructed and commanded to submit to both as expressions of our faith in Christ.

In what has become known as the “Great Commission,” Jesus gave the following command:

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19, 20

The word “baptize” is taken from the Greek word baptizo meaning: to immerse or submerge, Immersion, wherein a person is completely lowered under the water;
Immersion portrays the atoning death of Christ and gives witness to the reality of His bodily resurrection. (Romans 6:3-5)

Why You Need To Be Baptized

· 1. Act of Obedience:
Throughout the New Testament water baptism was practiced following conversion. This was done in direct response to Jesus’ command that Christians everywhere are to “preach” and then “baptize” those who believe. Therefore, everyone who becomes a Christian needs to be baptized out of obedience to God.
· 2. Statement of Faith:
As mentioned earlier, water baptism is an outward statement of one’s belief in Christ’s atonement for our sins, the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit to guide and influence our lives, and the only means for gaining a clear, guilt-free conscience towards God. Baptism is a means to make a public statement of your faith.
· 3. Public Testimony:
In the New Testament we see baptism practiced publicly. It was a very powerful and meaningful way to fulfill Jesus’ promise “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.” Those who are publicly baptized “acknowledging before men” their life’s commitment to Him as their Lord and Savior.

What Baptism Cannot Do!
1. Baptism cannot save:
Salvation comes through faith alone, and not works. [Ephesians 2:8] Therefore, the act of baptism cannot save us. Rather, it gives evidence through public action that a person has already been saved.

2. Baptism cannot cleanse from sin:
The cleansing of sins takes place when we believe and accept Christ and ask Him to cleanse our sins (1 John 1:9). Baptism may witness to our cleansing, but the water itself is powerless to cleanse from sin.

3. Baptism cannot magically free us from sinful habits:
Self-control, moral purity, holiness and much more, are all benefits of receiving Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to influence and change us. Baptism should represent a statement on our part to live lives free from such controlling passions. Baptism alone will not magically or automatically free us from these things. Still, it does tell others that you have willingly submitted your life to the process of spiritual growth and change through the power of the Holy Spirit.

*Continue reading the Bible daily and study the scriptures.
*Pray daily and join a fellowship of believers who are growing in the knowledge of Christ.
*Sing praises and worship to your savior Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God!
*Claim the peace and joy of knowing you have eternal life in Heaven everlasting.

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness’s are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
May God Bless you in your walk with him, share with others what God has done for you. In Jesus Name
THE GIFT OF DISCERNMENT

Proverbs 16:25(KJV): "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."

In these verses in the book of Proverbs we are warned that we can be deceived if we are not vigilant and discerning.
Something may appear to be right, and yet it could lead us down a pathway to death. One does not arrive at being an over comer until he first learns the all important lesson of "testing" or "proving" the issues of this life.

In the hour that we live there are so many things that are false and evil. We must be constantly on guard and "prove" or "test" things, lest we become ensnared by something that is wicked. Cults are spreading.
Eastern idolatrous religions are creeping into our country in very subtle forms, and many Christians are being deceived and have accepted their practices without even being aware of their evil.
Some religious groups have existed for years under the guise of Christianity, and yet are far from the teachings of Jesus Christ.
We are warned in the New Testament to "prove" and "test" all things.

1 Thessalonians 5:21: "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

How do we "prove" or "test" things? We must look to God and His Word to prove all things. If something does not agree with the Word of God, then we should not believe it. Men have many ideas, and spread them as the truth.
However, truth can only be found in the Words of God. His truth will set us free, when we adhere to it.

John 8:31-32: "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Ephesians 5:2-10:
"2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no man/woman deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord."

There is a serious problem in the church today, as many lack discernment because of their lust for the things of this world; plus they have uncommitted hearts that contain a mixture of this world and the Lord's kingdom.
This mixture keeps them deceived and will ultimately bring destruction into their lives as they pursue the ways of death.
The Lord Jesus, Himself, warned us of a day when deception would be rampant.
He spoke these words in the gospels:

Matthew 24:4-5&11: "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man/woman deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."---"And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many."

Only by coming before Him with a teachable spirit can we be taught the truth and recognize error. As we become more acquainted with the real, we will be able to better discern the counterfeit. The devil has a counterfeit for every truth of God.
However, we need not fear being deceived if we are in fellowship with the Lord, for He will deliver us from every evil as we continue to follow and obey Him. The way to keep from being deceived is to depart from sin, and study the Word of God and then OBEY the things we find in its pages. Just hearing the Word will not save us, we must practice it or we will deceive ourselves.

James 1:21-22:
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, Cleanse me from all error and renew my mind. Lord, I desire to know the truth even if it means correction and embarrassment for me. Change my thoughts and heart to be your thoughts and heart.
Father, give me a teachable spirit. Take my desires, dreams and visions and give me yours. Cleanse me from all that offends you.
Create within me a clean heart, O Lord. Give me eyes to see things the way You see them and keep me from all deception.
Thank you for the gift of discernment so that I do not fall into the devil's traps. May You also do this for all of my brothers and sisters in Christ. I ask all this in your holy name Lord Jesus, Amen.
