MY LIFE STORY

“ ----- Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you. So the man went away and began to tell ---- how much Jesus had done for him -----” Mark 5:19 –20.

I was born to the late Mr. Daniel Ofosuhene and Janet Ofosuhene at Ho. My parents been Christians tried their best to bring me up in the way of the Lord.

I attended Ho Anglican Primary and Middle Schools and after that continued my education at Ho Technical Institute to pursue Motor Vehicle Engineering Course.

By the special grace of God, l had the opportunity to attend Evangelical Presbyterian Church where my late parents attended church at Ho Kpodzi. I also attended Scripture Union Fellowships and other Christian seminars.

Although my family tried their possible best to live a Christian life, the enemy did many things to us, which is a testing of faith.

FIRST TEST

I was very young when l remembered my father who works with Ghana Water and Sewerage Corporation became ill.

We did all through prayer and fasting with the help of the church to make our father well but to no avail. Hospitals that we visited those days could not discover the problem of our father who was now at the point of death. Everything looked as if God was far away from us.

People began to suggest other methods of healing like taken him to shrines. I was young so l had no voice to suggest to the elders what must be done.
My father was taken to African Traditional herbalist from one place to another, but all did not help.

SOLUTION

The Bible says in Hosea 14:1,2 that “Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God. Your sins have been your downfall. Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to Him, “Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously that we may offer the fruit of our lips.”
A family friend heard that our father was sick and we have been seeking solution for his healing but all to no avail. He took us to a place he used to attend fellowship called the Sacred Order of the Silent Brotherhood, opposite to Ho Leprosarium, Ghana.
That day we carried our father in a taxi car to that place. After intensive prayers for him at the church, my father who could not walked for many years, stood up on his feet and walked for the first time.

SECOND TEST

I came from a poor family and the scanty salary of my father could not take care of the needs of our mother and three boys.

My mother decided to work. So she got employment at Ministry of Health, as a cook. Conditions improved in our family, but this did not last at all. There was a great opposition from her other colleagues against her for leadership position. She was forced to resign her work and it was not long when she fell sick.

The doctor’s report said it was high blood pressure. The situation was tough and when things went out of control, she became paralysed and eventually died.

THIRD TEST

After l finished my Technical School education in Ghana, l got employment in 1983, at Volta Region Agricultural Development Project (VORADEP), in the Mechanisation Department.

The Lord made it possible for me to get married and my marriage was blessed with two boys.

The Bible says, “Do not be misled, bad company corrupts good character.” I Corinthians 15:33.

My association with co – workers at VORADEP, misled me into acts of drinking, womanising and running away from the calling of God. I’ll say this third test was a backsliding from the faith.

I was transferred from Ho to Jasikan, all in the Volta Region of Ghana and my wayward life continued.

The Bible says,
“I will heal their (my) waywardness and love them (me). I will be like the dew to Israel (Godwin), he will blossom like a lily. Like a cedar of Lebanon he will send down his roots; his young shoots will grow. His splendour will be like an olive tree, his fragrance like a cedar of Lebanon. Men will dwell again in his shade. He will flourish like the grain. He will blossom like a vine and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon.” Hosea 14: 4-7 (NIV)

I lost my job in 1995, at VORADEP while at Jasikan. I turned over into farming, gambling and business, but all these things did not help me. Meanwhile, God has been calling me into His ministry when l was fifteen years old.

I refused to answer the call. In fact l did not want anything to do with becoming a minister of God.
One night when l was asleep at Jasikan, l had a terrible dream and there l saw myself been buried alive in a coffin. The people who came to bury me said, “they have been sent to bury me because l refused to answer the call of God for becoming a minister.”

I pleaded with them in the dream not to bury me and l promised that if they spared my life, “I’ll take up the cross of Jesus.” All of a sudden, l woke up and saw that it was a dream. In actual fact the dream frightened me and l broke down in tears crying like a little child. I called my wife and narrated the dream to her. I told her that “ l do not want to die now but if l refused now to answer God’s calling l may die soon.”

After some few days of staying with my family, l left them for Accra, the capital city of Ghana. My going to Accra is upon divine instruction given to me after days of prayer and fasting to seek the face of God concerning my life.

At Accra, l started moving from one church to another and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was a hard decision for me from the beginning and at night for almost one month, l sat down on my bed to weep like a baby. In my tears l pleaded earnestly with God that if it is possible, may He take away the calling into the ministry from me.

God did not answer such my prayer, but began to deal with me in different ways to make things clearer to me that my calling into ministry is neither by the will of man, nor the will of the flesh but comes from the Sovereign Lord God Almighty.

TRAINING

I fellowshipped with a church called Christ Believers Ministry those days at Abeka – Lapaz, suburb of Accra. One night l had a dream when l saw myself attending school and at the same time teaching. The dream was interpreted to mean that l should go to a Bible School.

That same year l enrolled for Pastoral Ministries, a part time course at Ghana Christian college and Seminary. I studied this course for three (3) years. After this course, l enrolled again for Bachelor Degree program in Christian Ministries at the same Seminary.

The Lord now started using me to hold crusades, seminars, prayer meetings and church revivals in so many towns and villages. My missionary work took me to regions in Ghana, such as Volta, Eastern, Western, Central, Ashanti and Greater Accra.

While in Christian college, the Lord directed me to work with Youth Ambassadors For Christ Association (YAFCA). The founder and leader is Rev. Dr. John Owusu Afriyie. This man of God discerned my ministry gifts and asked me to become the resident Pastor of Life Discovery church, a department under YAFCA. I served in this ministry for about five (5) years by training many youth through Youth Evangelism School called YES. I left there and established a non – denominational ministry known as Christ Ambassadors Movement (CAM). This ministry enabled my group and l to travel to several towns and villages for crusades activities.

In the year 2000AD, a new mission field opened unto me. A called came from Christ Holy Church, Nigeria (an African Instituted church) that l should come and teach Biblical subjects in their missionary training school. After much prayer and it was the will of God for me to go, l left Ghana for Nigeria in the year 2000AD.

I have been teaching there till now. So far by the grace of God’s abundant grace upon me, we have trained hundreds of students who are now serving in Christ Holy Church International at Nigeria, Ghana and Togo.

Question: What would have happened to me if l had not given myself to Christ and answer the call of God?

Probably l may have died by now
Probably l may still be in sin heading towards Hell.
Probably a worst thing may have happened to me --- ?

1. “O brother have you told how the Lord forgave?
Let us hear you tell it over once again:
Thy coming to the cross where He died to save,
Let us hear you tell it over once again.
Are you walking now in His blessed light?
Are you cleansed from every guilty stain?
Is He your joy by day and your song by night?
Let us hear you tell it over once again.

Chorus

Let us hear you tell it over
Feel it over once again
Tell the sweet and blessed story
It will help you on to glory
Let us hear you tell it over once again

When toiling up the way was the saviour there?
Let us hear you tell it over once again:
Did Jesus bear you up in His tender care?
Let us hear you tell it over once again,
Never have you found such a friend as He
Who can help you midst the toil and pain;
Oh all the world should hear what He’s done for thee:
Let us hear you tell it over once again

The battles you have fought and the victories won,
Let us hear you tell it over once again;
It will help them on the way who have just begun,
Let us hear you tell it over once again.
We are striving now with the hosts of sin,
Soon with Christ our Saviour we shall reign
Ye ransomed of the Lord, try a soul to win
Let us hear you tell it over once again.
C.H.C. HYMN 724

This testimony is written for the saved and unsaved.
May the saved read it and be encouraged. No matter their struggles in the Christian life, let them stand firm “ --- because their labour in the Lord is not in vain --- it will be richly rewarded.”
I Cor. 15:58; Heb. 10:35

May the unsaved read it and “ --- Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38

God bless you and grant all your hearts desires in Jesus name. Amen.
