A View From The Mountain Top
As I stand atop the mountain overlooking the sea,
I view the beauty below me!
Beautiful flowers growing at my feet,
Send up a fragrance so delicately sweet!
A choir of birds with melodious voice,
Seem to say to me, "Rejoice!" "Rejoice!"
My heart feels a peace it has seldom known,
For all traces of doubt and fear have flown!
I feel so rested and worry free,
That I wonder if this is really happening to me!
As my lungs capture the mountain air,
I breathe to God this humble prayer!
Dear Lord, you've brought me a mighty long way,
From the place I was to where I am today!
I thank you for the Holy Ghost You've placed inside,
Who makes all the anxious feelings subside!
I thank you, Lord for the many ways,
You have helped me through my most difficult days!
That valley was about to get the best of me.
The light at the end of the tunnel was hard to see!
My cheery smile was replaced by a frown,
For I had let the problems of life get me down.
But though I worried, fretted and cried,
You never even once left my side!
Lord, I didn't always understand,
You were waiting to help me with an outstretched hand!
Sometimes I feel like I've had more trouble than my share,
But, You always know how much each soul can bear,
And with each trial that takes shape,
You always provide a means of escape!
Lord, when it comes my time to go,
Back to be tried in the valley below,
Help me to hold my head up high,
Knowing You always oversee me with Your watchful eye!

God Promised Joy In The Morning!
Weeping may endure for the night.
But, with the first signs of light,
Everything will be all right!
God promised joy in the morning!
With troubles and trials I'm tossed about.
I've fightings within and fears without.
However, I shall triumph without a doubt,
For God promised joy in the morning!
Satan's strategy is well planned.
He thinks he'll get the upper hand.
Ah, but the Captain of my salvation is in command!
God promised joy in the morning!
If I should stumble in life's race,
While trying to keep up the hectic pace,
Though tears of sorrow stream down my face,
God promised joy in the morning!
Waves of glory now flood my weary soul!
For soon I'll reach my eternal goal!
Then, I'll be with Jesus while the ages roll!
God promised joy in the morning!

I’m Christ’s Ambassador!
For as long as I may live,
Lord help me to give,
To you my very best.
Each and every day,
I must watch the words I say,
In order to stand the test.
As an ambassador at large,
I’ve been given the charge,
To go both far and near!
Having been adopted by the Heavenly King,
I will gladly bring,
A message of hope and cheer!
I can’t speak my own mind.
I must seek to find,
Ways to please Jesus who set me free!
Then, one day I’ll see His face,
In the beautiful place,
He has lovingly prepared for me!
Oh, life is hectic every day.
Sometimes I’m easy prey,
And in danger of being trapped in Satan’s snare.
But, if I constantly abide,
Close by the Saviour’s side,
I shall escape through the power of prayer!

JESUS GAVE ME HOPE
I don’t know what you’re going through.
But, I wanted you to know,
I’ve struggled through,
Some hard times too,
When tears began to flow.
It was then I called on Jesus’ name,
During a time I could not cope.
And my circumstance was not the same,
For Jesus gave me hope!
He said, “My child come unto me,”
“And I will give you rest!”
“Just have faith and you will see,”
“I’ll help you stand the test!”
His voice then calmed,
Life’s troubled sea!
The billows ceased to roll!
A wonderful peace came over me,
As great joy filled my soul!
Now I’ve learned to trust in Him,
No matter, come what may!
And though life’s path is often dim,
He’ll guide me all the way!

HOMECOMING DAY
From the sounds that I hear,
I know Christ’s coming is so near.
For strong winds blow,
And earthquakes shake the ground.
I know the word of God is true.
He’s coming back for me and you!
It will be rapture to be Heaven bound!
In schools and churches,
Our children are dying.
It seems that violence,
Appears on every hand.
As we offer comfort to those,
Who are crying,
It’s plain to see Lord,
They don’t understand.
All around me my dear friends,
Are leaving.
One by one they have left,
This world of woe.
So my heart is broken,
And my spirit is grieving.
But I shall join them in Heaven I know!
Oh, the signs of the time,
Say He’s returning!
And with a shout,
He’ll come and take His bride away!
Within my heart now,
I can feel this message burning,
"Don’t loose hope child,
You're too near Homecoming Day!"

LORD I WANT TO BE CLOSE TO THEE!
Lord, just to be,
Close to Thee,
Is my soul’s desire!
Along the road,
Toward Heaven’s abode,
I long to climb up higher!
Though for miles,
Troubles and trials,
May try to block my view,
Your hand I’ll grip,
And I’ll not slip.
For I’ve put my trust in You!
When I’m tried,
You’re by my side,
Giving the strength I need!
Day or night,
All is right,
If I’ll just let you lead!
Sweet Heaven awaits,
With it’s pearly gates,
In welcome swung open wide!
So, at my journey’s end,
With Jesus, my Friend,
I shall joyfully step inside!

JUST TALKIN' TO THE LORD
Tonight as I lay on my pillow,
I might think of the day now past.
Lord, as I'm getting older,
Time goes by so fast.
The hours go by like minutes.
The months like weeks unfold.
My youth just seems like yesterday.
My life is a tale that's told.
Lord I'll never be a rich man,
In the way this old world measures.
But, I'm glad to that in Heaven,
I've laid up my treasures!
I'll never be a great man,
In the eyes of today's church world.
But, I've got my eyes set on Heaven,
And those beautiful gates of pearl.
I don't aspire to be a leader.
Just a follower of You let me be.
'Til You're blessed face I see.
Let me be a blessing to others.
Help me to understand,
That we all have our burdens to bear.
I must give them a helping hand.
I've sure had my share of blessings.
You gave me a Godly wife.
She's stood by me,
Through thick and thin,"
As we've weathered the storms of life.
We are blessed,
With a couple of children.
Both of them are boys.
Our oldest has a daughter.
She's her grandparents pride and joy!
Our youngest has heard,
God's call on his life.
Oh, I pray it is there still.
Help him to put God first in his life,
And bend to Your perfect will.
My life has been blest with loved ones,
And Lord, I've shed many a tear,
When the hand of death has taken them,
And I've been left down here.
It seems like when they leave,
A part of me goes along with them.
Their crossing,
Makes Heaven clearer to me,
And this wicked old world grow dim.
Tonight as I lie on my pillow,
And as into deep sleep I go,
I know You'll keep me safe.
I'm in Your hands I know.
If You should decide to take me,
When my heartbeat becomes real slow,
What a wonderful way to reach my Home.
Dear Lord, I'm longing to go.
I know it's not how we leave here.
It's where we go when we leave.
I may have pain and suffering,
Before my crown I receive.
So, whether I die in my sleep,
Or struggle through great pain,
I've got one goal and one destination,
That one fact still remains!
If You come for me at midnight,
Or at the break of day,
My lamp must be trimmed and burning,
So, I will be caught away!
My garment can't be spotted,
Wrinkled or any such thing.
I must be pure and Holy,
When I stand before my King.
We'll I guess that's all
This time, Lord.
I'll close my eyes to rest.
If I face tomorrow's sunshine,
I'll strive to do my best.
I thank You once again, Lord.
You paid the sin debt I owed.
My awful sins ere so scarlet.
Yet you washed them white as snow!

THE LEGACY I LEAVE BEHIND!
There isn’t a doubt,
I love to shout!
But that’s not the only way,
I want to be known!
I cherish writing!
It’s truly exciting!
God has blessed me,
And my ministry has grown!
Occasionally I write a song,
And the melody comes along!
God has blessed me in so many ways!
I truly love,
To do all of the above!
So that I can give my Saviour praise!
Oh, I may aspire,
To climb up higher,
On the Heavenly plane!
But if I don’t “walk the walk,”
As well as “talk the talk,”
My efforts will have been in vain!
I must be careful with the kind,
Of legacy I leave behind!
For others will follow the path I trod!
They must not be lead astray!
Then they can easily find the way,
That leads to home and God!

HE’S ALWAYS THERE!
From a mother’s womb,
To an earthly tomb,
And in points along life’s way,
Each time we cry,
God will supply,
Grace for each and every day!
He will quell childish fears,
And in our “Autumn years,”
Though storms of life bombard our soul,
Amidst troubles and trials,
And those strenuous miles,
God is always in control!
Our Heavenly Father above,
Has an undying love!
And He treats us all the same!
Even in our darkest hour,
He will show His power,
If we will just call upon His name!

OH, WHAT A FRIEND!
When I am feeling alone and blue,
And my smile becomes a frown,
I turn to a Friend who's tried and true!
He will never let me down!
My Friend, Jesus knows my every thought.
By Him even my actions are weighed.
Praise God my soul has been blood bought!
On Calvary's hill the price He paid!
Though I may not always understand,
Why some things must be,
I place my life in His strong hand,
Knowing He will care for me!
I need not fear what man can do,
For Jesus is my Shield against all foes!
He promised He would see me through,
Until time's curtain shall close!
I've never had a Friend before,
Who is so loving, kind, and good!
His love will last forevermore!
He promised me it would!
Someday my tent down here I'll fold,
When it's time for this pilgrim to go.
Then I shall walk the streets of gold,
In a garment as white as snow!
Ah, on this one thing I can depend,
I shall not walk alone!
For hand in hand with Jesus, my Friend,
I'll be headin' toward God's throne!

JESUS, THE SUPREME SACRIFICE!
Under the Mosaic Law,
The high priest could only appear,
Behind the veil of the temple,
Once a year,
In an attempt Israel's sins to atone.
But, what seemed to be a flaw,
In that part of the law,
Was that he must sacrifice,
For sins of his own.
So, a permanent sacrifice had to be found,
For man who God formed from the ground.
This sacrifice had to be Holy and pure!
Therefore, our Heavenly Father above,
Gave His Only Begotten Son in love,
A love that will evermore endure!
The blood of animals could never suffice,
To be the needed sacrifice.
At best it was just a covering for sin.
But, when Calvary's Lamb was slain,
The veil of the temple was rent in twain.
Now, through Jesus we all may enter in!
When to the cross Jesus came,
And though despising the shame,
He remained God's dutiful Son!
Jesus never gave up,
And as He drank death's bitter cup,
He said, "Father, not My will,"
"But Thine be done!"
Friend, today the gospel call,
Goes out to one and all,
No matter how sinful or depraved!
Salvation is not just for some!
Whosoever will may come,
For God's desire is that all will be saved!
