Prayer Request

PRAYER IS THE LIFE LINE TO GOD, KEEP THE LINES OF COMMUNICATION OPEN.
"Is any sick among you? Let him call for the Elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise him up: and if he have committed sins, they shall forgive him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:14-16.

Praise the Lord; we are coming to the end of the first semester feeling we have provided a quality education despite the absence of five teachers still waiting to receive their visas so they can join our team here. Nova Glass, an IMB Missionary, should complete her language training and join us before the end of the 1st semester, but the other four are waiting visa approvals.
We are thankful to the Lord for sending Nate Johnson, Director of the NICS school in Caracas, to lead our junior/senior high school spiritual retreat! Thirty-four of the 38 secondary students were in attendance and it was a magnificent and wonderful weekend! Pray the truths Nate shared will guide the hearts of our students.
Praise the Lord we opened the year with 96 students, six of whom will be graduating or leaving by the end of the semester; but the Lord is providing more interest in our school and we anticipate reaching our goal of 100 students for the year!
Pray for our Brazilian accreditation. After 4 years, we are down to one final signature of approval. We are told we will get the final approval after an on-site visit scheduled for next week.
Pray for the land situation at our campus. MICEB, the missionary organization that has administered the land since the Lord provided the funding to buy and build the present campus, is discussing selling the land. Pray that the Lord's will be done by each of us as we seek to facilitate the change of ownership and retain the campus for the use of Christian Education.

I know that you know all things and see the things that Satan is attempting to bring against those that I love dearly. Lord, I am obedient to you and I live my life yielded to you. Lord, you said that you would not put more on me than I can bear, and I trust your word as Truth. I need you to bind evey evil spirit that tries to come against me and my family. bless each one of them with protection and divine guidance in handling their situations according to your perfect Will. i give you all the honor and glory in all things in Jesus name amen

* The “Week without Walls” was a phenomenal time for the students and the staff to spend quality time outside the school together serving the community! None came to a saving knowledge of the Savior, but bible classes the next week were filled with answering questions really getting to the hearts of these children. It was a great time of serving and of loving others in honor of our Lord.
* Praise the Lord we had a wonderful Mother’s Day presentation by the kids, where they shared the Gospel and a hosted a beautiful breakfast for the moms. Moms were honored by their children and the school. The presentation also extolled the virtues of a Godly mom.
* We recently had a “Family Sports Day” where the families of the school came together to play sports, games, dance and have lunch. We praise God for a great time of fellowship for the families of the students!
* Please pray that the graduation goes smoothly and that our seniors will allow God to lead them as they step into the next phase of their lives.
* Please pray for the family of Nicole Bowman (1st grade teacher), who has been affected by recent flooding in the U.S.
* We have several staff members and/or wives of staff members who will be delivering babies soon. Please pray for safe healthy deliveries for Mel White, Lorraine Goddard and Edna Ricardo.
* Pray for the father of Les Williams (director) as he continues his battle with cancer. Please pray for God’s healing touch on his life. Also, pray for Les and Elisa William’s son Ethan attending college in the U.S.
* Pray for God’s blessings on our teachers that are transitioning back to the states. We are thankful for their time of service here.
* Pray we will be able to obtain visas for our new staff joining our team for the next year. We are trying out a new company that might be able to help with visas.
* With the ongoing lawsuit from the church there are a lot of staff members struggling with truth and where that is right now. Pray for God to reveal His truth to all involved. And please pray for Les as he deals with this issue.

Praise the Lord we have hired a secondary principal! Pray for us as we still need a Kindergarten teacher.
We have people committed to donating money for our soccer field, we are figuring out the in-kind contributions. Pray God will provide the funds needed to allow this will take place.
Praise God for our consistent enrollment of 196 students!
Pete Simano, Director, was able to travel to the home office last month in Southaven, MS for the ALC (Annual Leadership Conference). What a blessing to have Charity LaMertha (Principal) and Laura LaPierre (Business Manager) to keep things running smoothly in his absence!
Please pray God brings the right people in His timing to fill our positions still posted.
Pray for our re-enrollment process as we begin planning for next year.
Please pray for our administrative team to honor God in all we do for the remainder of this year and next year. It is very encouraging that we have this learning year under our belt.
Pray the Lord will allow us to continue to pay off our debts in a responsible fashion.
Please pray for the hearts of our staff to be in tune with the heart of God! Pray we will be unified as we strive to honor Him daily.
Please pray for Abigail Ransom (wife of Joshua – Art teacher) as she is delivering their third child this month and will be giving birth in Bandung. Please pray for a healthy, easy birth for the baby and great health for Abigail.

Pray for the 4262 students in the NICS/Oasis family and their families. Pray God will use the influence of our schools and staff to influence them heavenward.
Pray for Joe Hale’s school visits where there are issues that need to be resolved.
Pray God will provide the funding needed to expand the ministry in key cities.
Pray for God’s provision to purchase the adjoining property to our headquarters—approximately $2.5 million needed.
Pray for the Executive Team—Joe, Dennis & Steve, as they discuss and make major decisions for the ministry.

Our primary prayer request remains the same. We need more students. We have a preschool that is ready for ten little ones to join us. We could definitely use students throughout grades 2-6. Please pray for the Lord to send more students.
Please pray for what we have named “Task Force 80.” The father of one of our students has spearheaded a group to try to attract 80 more students by next year; 80 is our building capacity. Many of the school parents are coming weekly on Mondays and are generating some great action plans. We praise the Lord for this group of parents and pray that the ideas and plans will be in line with what God desires for us.
On October 15th we are hosting an information evening in Switzerland about our school with the goal to draw interested individuals who might be hesitant to cross an international border. On Oct 18th is our annual Fall Party. We have invited the expat community to visit us and informally meet our school family. On October 21st we will also take part in a preschool/kindergarten school fair. Please pray these events will bring us new students and more awareness in the expatriate community.
Pray for the Harmon family, currently in the United States, as they work on raising the support necessary to bring their family of five to serve here. They are looking forward to being part of the RIA family as soon as possible.
We are inviting our prayer supporters to join us in a day of fasting and prayer for our school enrollment in October. We need about 50 students to meet our financial obligations this year; we have 27 students to date this year.

Please pray for Sally Wu. Sally had to resign from teaching middle and high school in August when the doctors discovered a lump in her neck. The lump was cancerous so they removed it and now she has started radiation therapy. Sally is a HUGE ASSET to our organization and our hearts are breaking for her and her family.
Li Rui (our school accountant) also discovered two lumps on her neck. She has been away from the school for three weeks as she recovers from surgery and waits on the biopsy. Li Rui is vital to our school and her expertise is invaluable in making sure we legally operate the school within this country.
The whole world recently watched our country host the Olympics. There is definitely a feeling of change in the air. As we live here and serve these people, we see tremendous doors opening to share and for the local fellowships to grow. Please pray for this great country in the days to come. These are exciting times to live here and see changes taking place almost daily.
After a two-year wait, one of our middle school teachers and her family (the Zinns) were just able to adopt their little 21 month-old daughter locally. Through many disappointments and trials this family never gave up hope. Please pray for them as they transition to having a baby in the home.
Our campus is still inadequate for the number of students we enrolled this fall (247+). We desperately need a new location for next year because of our growth and our landlord needs his building back next summer. Please pray for God’s guidance, wisdom, and intervention for this to take place.
Josh Ransom, our new art teacher, and family just sold their home in the Memphis area and are expected to arrive here in early December. Please pray for them as they sell, give away and raise support to get here by that date. They will be such blessings to our organization for the future.
We have heard from some of our staff who departed in June and all are doing well. Continue to pray for them as they transition to different parts of the world.

Brasilia International School- Principal, Praise the Lord! We are operating at our new campus! And school opened on time!
The recent visit from Joe and Jed Hale was encouraging (and fun!) and we appreciated it.
Thanks to the Lord as enrollment has held steady. We have the highest number of students ever for the start of school!
We praise God for a very hardworking and dedicated staff!
Scott Bose's dad is home from the hospital after a stem cell replacement procedure and is doing okay. Pray for him to regain his strength in the days to come.
Pray for us as there are many “little things” to do at our new campus. The library is not quite finished, but it should be completed in a week.
Please pray for Godly wisdom and ideas as we learn how to function at the new campus (many procedural things are different).
Please continue to pray for Mike and Aundrea Taylor to get their visas in a timely manner. Mike will be the office and facilities manager, and Aundrea will be teaching 3rd grade.
We still need two teachers: 5th grade is an urgent need and PE/Music would be very helpful. Please pray with us about this.
Pray for the health of our staff and their families as several family members of our teachers are struggling with health issues.
Pray the Lord will send additional students as we now have the space!

He has developed a number of inoperable tumors that are affecting his liver, kidneys and other vital processes. The doctors have given James one to two months to live. We would ask that the Network pray for God to make His presence clear as He works His will through this situation, for the Longley's as they face the myriad of issues surrounding this illness, for James's students this year and from last year, for us as a school as we help the students and parents involved, for Brooke Hale as she moves into James's classroom, and for the peace of God which passes all unders! tanding. James and Diane are in need of a miracle.

Pray for our new faculty team members as they get settled in, meet their students and their families, and begin this exciting year.
Pray for us as we prepare for our first full accreditation team visit the last week of October.
Several faculty members have family issues at home. Pray for the Lord to resolve these issues and provide the grace needed to minister effectively here.
We continue to daily meet the constraints of limited enrollment versus the high cost of operating a school in Japan. Pray our Heavenly Father will provide according to His riches and resources!

Please pray for a complete recovery for Jeanette Opoku, one of our teachers who recently suffered from an extreme blood volume loss while experiencing a miscarriage. The attending physician stated had she waited until the next morning, she would have passed away. We are thankful for God's specific direction in allowing Laurie Korum, an embassy nurse here, to intercede on 'Auntie Jeans' behalf and cut through the maze of problems that encumber health care here. The operation was performed late on a Saturday night with the best of care. Once again the Lord has shown us He is in control and directs specifically in our lives!

The Home Office is in great need of a new facility. Plans are nearing completion for a permanent location. God has already provided abundantly for this need. Pray that He alone gets the glory for the provision of a facility.
Thank the Lord for safe and successful journeys as 5 Home Office staff members visited 8 of our schools last month. These calls are a highlight for both the field staff and home office staff members, reminding us of the joy of serving together in the body of Christ. Pray for the plans for Pre-Field Orientation. This will be our largest group of participants ever, which brings many challenges including staffing, facilities, housing, meals, kids programs and transportation. • Rejoice with us in the faculty and staff with which God has blessed us. Please pray God will refresh each member spiritually, emotionally, and physically as we near the end of a LONG school year. Also pray each will be reminded constantly of God’s goodness and provision. Rejoice with us that even when weary we have a wonderful calling – sharing the love of Christ with the kids here. What an awesome privilege we have!

• Please pray for David Quijarro, Business Manager, as he is in critical condition in the hospital due to a ruptured kidney. The damaged kidney has been removed but he is now in a coma and on a ventilator. Pray for God to restore him and pray for the family as they have no insurance to cover the expense (David is ‘uninsurable” under Bolivian regulations). There is an effort to raise money to help the family pay for treatment and medications that are vital for his recovery. If God leads you to help in this effort please contact Lonnie Buller in the NICS Home Office at LonnieBuller@nics.org .

• Praise God for a successful surgery for K-5 student Andrea Calamaro (daughter of our Bible teacher)! She is recovering much faster than the doctors had hoped and has already returned to school.
• Pray for the success of our Spring Missions Trip (April 7-14). Pray God will use our team to make a difference with everyone they meet in the Philippines.
• Pray for the re-enrollment process that has just begun. A strong registration would be a blessing in building the enrollment back to previous levels.
• Pray God will send us just the right people for our Middle School and PE/Athletic Director positions.
• Pray that our Science Fair will be a testimony to many parents.
• Please continue to pray for the school enrollment and our school budget. We need more students!

• Pray for our school’s annual “Week Without Walls” program March 26-29. Pray God will use our staff and students as we use service projects to impact the community in which we live.
• Pray for the financial resources needed for our campus relocation project to continue to have success. We expect to begin construction April when the rainy season tapers off.
• Pray for a strong spirit of unity among our staff and school community.
• Praise God for a safe return for Joey Beeson, Director, and his family as they returned in mid-March from their mini-furlough. Pray for Joey as he finishes out the school year without an assistant principal.
• Pray for our school’s 50th anniversary celebration April 13-14. We are so thankful for the Lord’s faithfulness and provision for our school - past, present, and future!
• Praise God for providing 5 new staff members for our school! We now have 3 remaining openings for next school year, including the critical position of guidance counselor.

• This Friday, March 30, we have a team leaving for a mission’s trip to the Philippines. On Saturday another team leaves to remodel a church and build some additional smaller buildings around the church site. There are about 40 people going in all. Pray they will be used by the Lord as they minister.
• All teachers are hired for next year! Thank you for your prayers!
• Please pray for our senior class as they leave for their senior trip to Thailand on March 31.
