Faith & Hope Christian Academy is a K-12 interdenominational Christian school dedicated to the scriptural principle of unity in Christ. Our goal is to provide a quality education in a Christian atmosphere. We affirm and teach only the primary doctrines of the Christian faith as found in both the Old and New Testaments.
Faith & Hope Christian Academy is not a ministry of any particular denomination or local congregation. We exist to provide the community with an alternative education founded upon Biblical principles and academic excellence.
Faith & Hope Christian Academy is an accredited, independent, private school and receives no state or federal funding. All funding is provided by donations and community support. We welcome you and yours to FHCA and we appreciate your prayers and support.
Statement of Faith
We believe the Holy Scripture of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally and plenary inspired Word of God - inerrant, infallible, God-breathed; it is the final authority for faith and life. The 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man. The scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning, as the Bible is it's own interpreter.
We at FHCA believe that children are a gift from God to be valued, cared for, and properly trained by the parents to whom God has entrusted them. Our school is a "tool" that can help in that training process.
As an independent Christian school, We have a responsibility to follow Biblical principles and guidelines from God's Word. When home, Church, and school cooperate in following these principles, children will become successful adults.
Faith & Hope Christian Academy exists to enable its students to become dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ by providing them with the Inspired Word of God and a traditional education, an education that will enrich them spiritually as well as intellectually. Students at FHCA will learn skills and multiple languages to enable them to do missions throughout the world.
Inspired Word of God: We apply God's Word to teaching subjects of every day education. We begin each day in God' Word to inspire the children to have and keep his or her relationship alive,and to grow with the Revelation of Jesus Christ each day. The staff at FHCA has over 100 years of combined missions work.
Traditional Education: The focus is on each student as an individual, helping them to reach their academic potential and learn those study skills which will serve them throughout life.
FHCA provides a Christian atmosphere that is conducive to both academic and spiritual growth.
Prior to the 2007/2008 school year, funding was provided by tuition and donations. In mid-year, however, we acted on two realizations: 1) that many students cannot afford tuition, and 2) we cannot turn them away from Christ. Since our goal as an interdenominational Christian school is to provide a quality education in a Christian atmosphere to every child who wants one, we have come to understand that God's will for us is to provide this education tuition-free, trusting in God and His family to provide the leadership, finances, and all of the other resources needed to operate this academy.
Education at the Academy is in one sense “Free” (no Tuition charged), but “Tuition-free” is not “cost-free.” Parents are still responsible for fees and costs for such things as:
Diagnostic testing fees (variable)
Field trip costs (variable)
Other standardized tests
Cost of books and study material
Student transportation (Gas)
Sports (various costs)
This is not an exhaustive list. These costs are very small in comparison with the cost of full tuition. Additionally, parents/guardians are encouraged to help by supplying some of the basic supplies needed by any organization. Items such as toilet paper and paper towels are always welcome, as are pencils, writing paper, ink cartridges for the printers, and even healthy snacks for the children. Parents/guardians should check with the school office regarding any special needs or donations. Receipts will be given upon request. Parents are also encouraged to participate in fund-raising activities for FHCA. These activities foster the spirit of family for which we strive, and also bring in much needed revenue for both daily operations and special projects. If you'd like to help financially, please consider donating (securely) through PayPal. All you need is a minute or two.
How can a no-tuition school survive? It's simple – FHCA needs your help. FHCA relies entirely on the support of the Christian community in all areas of support. In terms of funding, we receive a small curriculum-based grant from another Christian school; also some local congregations and individuals are taking on some of the bills. One congregation is paying our electric bill each month; an individual pays the water bill; others pay some of our other bills. We need more bill-payers too, but Christian stewardship is not just funding; it is leadership and prayer, too. We need you to join together as a Christian School Board, pastors and laity, to give direction and oversight to FHCA. We need volunteers to help, to teach, and to give a small portion of their time to Christian education.
Application forms are available from the school office; just call or stop by anytime. After the application is submitted, interviews are scheduled with parents and the prospective student. Diagnostic testing is done after acceptance.
Parental involvement is essential, and not just in terms of fund-raising (though that's a big need). We need to have parent-volunteers to help as lunch room monitors, classroom helpers, and more. Please check with the administration about what you can do to help your school. Additionally, school policies are decided by the board and your concerns help in making these decisions. Parents are encouraged to share ideas and concerns with the school administration.
School starts daily at 8:00 with Chapel Service;
Classes run from 8:30 AM through 3:00 PM;
Saturday evenings at 7:00, we have a worship service open to the community with pastors and evangelists from the local area.
