Donna Edwards got off to a good start when she opposed the Economic Recovery Act of 2008, then, in a move reminiscent of John Kerry, she voted for it, adding $700 billion to the deficit. Since then, she has blindly followed the Democrat leadership to vote for the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009, voted for the massive stimulus bill, then voted to increase costs and taxes literally for every small business and District 4 household with her support for "Cap and Trade," all based on the myth of man-made climate change. When the auto makers paid back their loans, she voted to spend that borrowed money as well! Now she and her colleagues have succeeded in the federal takeover of health care, placing your private insurance at risk and putting our seniors on notice that "Big Brother" will now be making their health care decisions. She voted to raise her $175,000 per year salary and now she wants to limit political free speech with a Constitutional amendment! Her reckless disregard for reality has contributed to spending $4 billion per month more than the government collects in revenue! No responsible District 4 voter can look in the mirror and think that continuing her in office is a good idea. It is not. Just as you rallied to support marriage between one man and one woman this past spring, it is my prayer that District 4 voters will heed 2 Chronicles 7:14, end two decades of identity politics, and do what is necessary to replace her with a fiscal conservative in 2012 and help defeat the destructive cycle of Democrat deceit, debt, deficits, and dependency that has now cost us the first downgrade in history in the U.S. credit rating.
