Verse of the Day



The Way To Heaven & Everlasting Life

 I.                  Realize:    You are a sinner.  “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”  (Romans 3:23)  We all inherit the sinful fallen nature all the way back to the first man Adam.  “Wherefore,    by  one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” (Romans 5:12)

 II.                Repent:    Of your sins & believe the gospel.      “….how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (1Corinthians 15:3,4)  Repentance means a change of mind, to turn from our sins and turn to Christ.

         Eternal hell awaits all who reject God’s free gift of salvation through  His Son, Jesus Christ.  “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of god is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

 III.            Receive:     The Lord Jesus Christ as your own personal Saviour and Lord.  “that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  “…..For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”   (Romans 10:9, 10,13

  IV.           Rejoice:    In God’s Love for you.  “But God  commendeth His love toward us,  in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)  “For God so loved the world that He gave  His only   begotten son, that whosoever  believeth in Him should not perish, but  have everlasting life.”   (John 3:16)  

  IV.          Remember:   God loves you and we at Eastside Baptist Church love you.  Come join us where you will receive a warm and friendly welcome from God’s  people.

      You may pray this simple prayer.  “Lord Jesus, I confess to you that I am a sinner.  I believe that you died for my sin and that you arose from the dead.  I ask you now to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart and life to be my Saviour and Lord.  Thank you for saving me and giving me eternal life.  In Jesus name I pray.
