Reach the lost at any cost

Our Pastor and his wife were requested by Social Services to visit a new asylum seeker who had been moved to the City. A heavily pregnant lady, with very scared eyes, opened the door. She was a Christian who had fled from persecution and whose husband was in prison for his faith. She had had hot milk thrown over her so the flies stuck, and had been stood in sand so hot it burned her feet and she was hospitalised. She managed to escape from the hospital through a bathroom window and was helped to get to the UK. She gave birth to a beautiful son, gained permission to stay and was able to set up home. For 2 years she had no news of her husband but held fast to her belief in Jesus. One Sunday she was missing from church and Pastor rang to see if she was ok. 'I am so shocked, I can't speak,' she told him. 'Why, what's the matter?' asked our concerned Pastor. 'My husband. He is standing here with me in my home' was her reply.

How could this be?

A few months after her escape he was released, found her gone and escaped himself to a European country. While at a friend's house they watched a DVD. It was taken at our local YMCA, and there, on the screen, was his wife - with a son he had never seen.

"That's my wife!" he cried.

He travelled to Manchester and he stopped someone in the street and asked if they knew his wife giving them her name. 'Yes'! was the astounding reply from a person who used to live in Stoke on Trent. She received a phone call to go and collect him.
What a miraculous reunion. You can see why we love God.
