A bit about me:
A short biography – “dub” W
I grew up in a military family, spending his first years in Quonset huts along side runways and on the edge of military bases. Later, my parents would be among the group who built the schools and highways of the United States.
I was educated in the best public schools; however graduated from undergraduate school at William Jewell College, a private college. Later I earned a Master’s degree from Southern Tech, a college of the University of Georgia. Additionally, I have completed advanced certificates in English as a Second Language, as well as, Adult Literacy.
My early career began in radio and television, before moving into advertising and eventually into international relations. Upon retirement from industry, I became a college English instructor, teaching in the North Carolina Community College system, and am currently an English Instructor at Liberty University.
In addition to teaching, I serve as an ESL Specialist for the Craven Literary Council and work on literary projects through a grant provided by the University of North Carolina.
There are a number of long publications on my vita, and I am currently finalizing a mystery series, which I hope to have to editors soon. I have published over 300 articles, including a syndicated column “Carolina Days.” Also, I have contributed to various anthologies including three Faithwriter’s books, Neuse River Anthology, and The Flat Water Anthology. Three of my short plays were published in the 1970s and 80s..
My wife and I have three sons, and eight grandchildren. We are members of Centenary United Methodist Church in New Bern, North Carolina.
