Historical Danbury Church

Danbury Christian Church has had a very vibrant and enduring ministry of service to Lord Jesus Christ. Many individuals through the years, have found the answers to their deepest need, salvation through God's Son.

Originally, the church was an Advent Christian Church, but in more recent years, has partnered with the NE Conservative Baptist Fellowhip.  The Historical facility, has undergone a few changes...removal of horse barns, added steeple, and fresh siding. And, even though it retains the charm of an New England country church, the church after all...is not the building. It is the body of Christ, the family of believer's that fit together to encourage each other, and reach the lost. In this respect...
Danbury Christian is alive and well!

ARTICLE 3 – STATEMENT OF FAITH

1.                We believe that the Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, is god’s complete written Word.  Although written by men, it was given under inspiration of God.  It is without error in its original texts, and is the final and absolute authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

2.                We believe in one eternal God, who exists in three Persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  These three are equal in Perfection, and carry out distinct but harmonious offices in God’s plan of creation, redemption, and providence.

3.                We believe in God the Father, an infinite, perfect spirit, who is perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love.  He concerns Himself in the affairs of men, hears and answers prayer, and saves from sin and eternal death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

4.                We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, who is true God and true Man.  He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and died a substitutionary death on a Cross to provide atonement for the sins of mankind.  He arose bodily from the grave, and ascended into Heaven, where He now makes intercession for His people.

5.                We believe in the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.  He regenerates, sanctifies, empowers, comforts, teaches, and guides all true believers in Christ.

We further believe that He indwells every child of God from the moment of conversion, and that He glorifies Jesus Christ, not Himself.

6.                We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, but by choice has been alienated from God by sin.  All people, therefore, are sinners by nature and by choice.

7.                We believe that salvation from sin is available by God’s grace, based on the shed blood, death, and resurrection of Christ.  This salvation is received by faith apart from human merit, works, or ritual.

8.                We believe that the Church is the spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated people are members.  We further believe that the local church consists of a group of true believers associated for worship, instruction, fellowship, evangelism, and service, and that this local church is self-governing under the Headship of Christ.

9.                We believe that two ordinances have been given to the Church to observe until the Lord returns:  (1)  Baptism by immersion of confessing believers, and (2)  The Lord’s Supper.

10.           We believe in the personal, pre-millennial return of Christ to earth, and that His return could occur at any time.  We further believe in the physical resurrection of all mankind, the saved to everlasting joy in the presence of God, and the lost to everlasting damnation.
