About:

When you join a United Methodist congregation, you become a member of the United Methodist connection, a covenant community dedicated to making disciples for Jesus Christ. Members make a solemn promise to God and the congregation to uphold the church with there prayers and their presence, their gifts and their service. We are people dedicated to a life of participation, personal responsibility, generosity, sacrifice and self restraint, responding to the call of Jesus Christ. We support worldwide ecumenical and educational ministries.
Our Church and its predecessors have worked to help the poor, the sick, the orphaned, the aging, the oppressed and the imprisioned. Our Church participates in the stuggles of women, people with physical and mental challenges, and racial and ethnic minority persons, helping them to attain equity and equality in the Church
and in society through responsible social action. Our local missions include: Red Cross, Talking Chronical, and Red Bird Missions for needy in the hills of Kentucky, Hospice, Shriners, summer camp for kid`s, helping fire victims in our community, cabulance tickets for members to come to church, books for home visits, Upper Room devotionals, holiday meals for the needy, Angel Tree at Christmas for local children of need, sock tree for our Nursing homes, funeral receptions for our members, monthly suppers, and tag, bake, book sales & lunches twice a year. As a whole we are deeply concerned about all of Gods children. Our world service include: sending blankets, tools and other vital necessities, to Countries like Indonesia, Pakistan, and Kenya.
God calls on us to provide quality education for our current and future leaders. The United Methodist Church is a global connection. We United Methodists believe, giving is an act of thanksgiving and worship, so we send our missionaries and ourselves into the world to spread the good news, feed the hungry, shelter the homless, and help God`s children everywhere. "Its not just about money." Our connectional giving is far broader than just money. We have vital environmental concerns, crisis- level health care issues, the proper development of human talent, and many other important aspects of daily life in a "Christian context" We work together, pool our resourses and join hands in service to Jesus Christ.
