Salvation -Amanda Harris Jasmer
"For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for our sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood." Romans 3:23-25
God LOVES you and wants you to experience peace and LIFE - abundant and eternal! Because of our nature, we are separated from God; we disobey him and we go our own way. Jesus is the bridge that closes the gap between God and his people. We must trust Jesus Christ and recieve him into our hearts by personal invitation. "The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My[Jesus'] purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life." John 10:10
How? Some of you have attended church or perhaps 'vacation bible school' where you hear the "abc's of salvation"... it may sound juvenile, but it really is that simple! A admit you need forgiveness of your sins and peace that a relationship with God promises. B believe with your whole heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and arose from the grave 3 days later. C confess your sins and seek forgiveness from Jesus and invite him into your heart to be your personal savior
It is a common misconception that you must "have it all together" in order to go to church or to call on God. I struggled with this myself when I strayed for several years after having been raised in church. I felt unworthy to approach the throne of God or to seek His mercy for my waywardness or to have Him provide me comfort for the brokenness my disobedience had caused me. I was wrong! God never turned from me - it was I who turned from Him. I went my own way and He was faithful and waited with outstretched arms for my return. If you take nothing else from this paragraph, take this... You do NOT have to have it all together to approach God and accept Jesus Christ into your heart for the first time OR to give your life back to Him for the second, third or twentieth time. He is faithful and will take you - right where you are, in the midst of your sin and all the 'junk' in your life and will offer you forgiveness, peace, and restoration. Our Savior's love and mercy is limitless, cast your burdens upon Him. "And while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8
