ORPHANS IN INDIA ![]() 'And the streets will again be full of boys and girls playing' (Zech8:5) "Man never stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child". (Abraham Lincoln) FRIENDSHIP HOUSE a project of PREMIER NETWORK MINISTRIES member of the: Evangelical Alliance of the United Kingdom member of the: Bridge the Gap International Tulsa Oklahoma USA International Head Office: 1 Waveney Hemel Hempstead Herts HP2 6DQ England Project Manager: Y. Hayagreev Suri e-mail geoffbone1@yahoo.co.uk International Director: Rev. Geoff Bone ABOUT GRACE ORPHANAGE Friendship House is an orphanage in India in which forty young children have been rescued from a life of begging and prostitution on the streets of Narsapur. It is the work that Y. Hayagreev Suri has committed his life to. He is serving these children because he himself has experienced a life of begging and abuse in India. Y. Hayagreev Suri writes, "I want to give a small testimony about myself. I have never seen the love of Mother or Father and they hate me now because I spare most of my time to the Lord’’s work. So at the age of ten I left home and started begging. I felt bad that I had no relation to look after me. Even though I was begging to feed myself, the money I got was never enough. I think that you know the position of our country, as it is very poor country. This begging continued several years. After five years on the streets a man who saw my position said I could stay with him and work as house worker. I said if you feed me two times per day I will work as house worker. He accepted me and took me home. The day I went to his home he started giving heavy duties, that is cleaning lavatories, washing clothes and carrying sand rocks, washing dishes and cleaning house. He used me very badly. He knew that I had no relations to care about me and that is why he used to trouble me so much. That time my age is 15. He never fed me properly and sometimes he used to say there is no food today. My owner has 4 children, they speak good English. I used to do massage to legs, head, hands, backbone applying oil and pressing body parts. While doing that I used to talk unknown English words by hearing them. I learned some English this way. I used to do massage at night times, and learned some Bible words. From that moment I started praying to Lord to give me a job to do. That is, the orphans who are like me must not waste their lives in darkness or by begging. I started praying to get blessing of Lord. For this opportunity. I started fasting for 40 days. Even though God did not talk with me during this fast, I continued it and at the 42nd day God told me to continue my prayers and work for orphans. From that day I started going to every church and learn more Bible words. I went to backward villages and prayed in every house and tell some Bible words. By that prayer they used to give me some gifts of money to feed my orphans. I took a small house for rent and gathered 40 orphans and fed them with what I had. So I once again started fasting and praying to God. (The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever. The LORD shall rejoice in his works. Psalm 104:31) My orphans are with torn clothes and with hungry stomachs. My Heavenly Father will talk with you about my bad position. I have told you my testimony and am asking you to remember my problems and help me to do more ministry. If possible send me some clothes and money for the orphans so that they will not go to bed hungry. It’’s hard for me to hear their cries at night. Please pray for me and for my need. The need is urgent if I am to continue keeping these precious children. If I fail they will return to the streets. I cannot do it alone. Please help me. (James 1:27) Hayagreev Suri. Dr. Samuel Suri D.D. of City on the Hill Ministries writes, "Y. HAYAGREEV SURI is genuine and he is very honest to his work, because whenever I go on my way I see him struggling for children. He stays in rented house with orphans. One day all the children were standing outside and crying, so I asked one of the orphans what was happening; the orphan said that their house owner is beating them with stick because the rent was not paid. Then I asked, "where is Haragreev Suri" and the children said he went out in search of food for them. I know him well because I often take him with me for gospel outreach. He is a very poor man who has given his life to serving the Lord. I also know that he is suffering to feed these orphans. He has 40 orphans. For one orphan per month, he needs US$25.(£15) This is the minimum amount for one orphan. So, whatever God tells you to give to share his burden, please respond and help him". We at Premier Network Ministries have adopted these children and need to raise US$150,000 to buy a house and pay for food, clothing and education. I am asking you to stretch your faith just a little bit more and include these in particular children in your giving. Just a little will do so much if we all join together. Geoff’’s JamJar Project. Will you clean out a used Jam Jar and place it on the table at mealtimes to remind you of these precious children. Then, every time you eat, out of thankfulness and gratitude for your provision, put a few coins in the jar. When full, send the total to our project. You will never miss the coins but for every dime you give, another child will be fed! Thank you!
