Without community service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It's important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It's the way in which we ourselves grow and develop.
"Dorothy Height" Open Table has become a very successfull part of our church. Today's economy has made it very difficult for many of us to survive. That is why we feel it is so important to serve the Tuesday evening meal from 5p.m.-6p.m. Open table has also received many donations of clothing and items that are given to families in need or sold for very little. Sometimes it is more effective to charge even the smallest amount than to just give a handout, it seems to be much easier for the people who have a hard time accepting handouts if we charge even just a little. We are very fortunate to have so many people willing to serve and assist with the meals. Anyone who would like to volunteer for a meal please feel free to call the church at anytime and find out what days are available that we do not have a server for. Also, open table is looking for someone to teach Bible Study after the meal on Tuesdays.
