I'm not sure who first made the observation that all creativity is but an echo of the original, but I must say that I agree. Solomon recognized this when he said, "there is nothing new under the sun" (Ecclesiastes 1:9). James 1:17 tells us that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights. In Romans we see that God gives gifts and callings without repentance, which means He doesn't change His mind and take them back. So what are we to think when people who promote sin are successful seemingly because they are gifted speakers, writers, singers, artists...? Just that God has graciously given gifts even to those who will choose to use their gifts in ways that do not glorify Him.

But that's not you and that's not me. We recognize that our gifts are mere reflections of God, not the original thing. And oh! How glorious are the talents we offer up to Him! So we want to have a quiet place, if you will, where we can share our love of the Savior. Freely you have received, freely give. And it is with that heart that Connect & Reflect was designed.
