Pictured below are some quilt squares made by women and men in memory of the baby(babies) they aborted. The names you see on these squares are a part of the healing process for the parents. Naming their child gave her/him dignity and personhood, he/she becomes more real to the parents. Sometimes the baby was old enough that they knew the gender, but other times, they just gave the little one a name precious to their heart.
