Music has always been a big part of the ministry of the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church. We have been blessed with so many wonderful singers and musicians over the past 80 years beginning with the first song leader, Wise Dingus.
In 1940 a quartet was formed with Haskew Hayes, Johnny Sykes, Paul Sweeton and Carl DePriest calling themselves The Burdine Quartet. For 10 years they delighted the church and surrounding area.
Patricia Sweeton Baker began playing piano in the 1950's and is still playing today.
The Burdine Freewill Baptist Church has been blessed with a church choir since 1970 when Haskew Hayes formed the first one. The choir has had many leaders over the years and is currently led by Jackie Collins. She and the choir are wonderful assets to the church.

The Happy Gospel Boys started singing at the church in the late 1970's. The members were Truman Conley, Jimmy Conley, Bobby Fleming and Tommy Oaks. When Jimmy and Tommy moved away Bill Mullins joined the group.
The group evolved into The Tools of the Carpenter when Bobby's daughters Amber and Autumn, and later Shane Powers, joined. The band is a true blessing to our church and the many churches they perform at throughout Kentucky and the surrounding states. They rarely turn down an invitation to sing and do benefits to raise money for the needy.
