0n our recent trip to Brazil we passed out Bibles to lots of people. They all were grateful but this poor elderly lady acted like we had given her a million dollars. We should all treasure the Word of God like that!

We recently returned from our mission trip to Brazil (2008). The Lord did awesome things. Click on BRAZIL AND FOREIGN UPDATE on the menu for the story. We continue to minister regularly at the Montague County Jail in Montague, TX ; the Union Gospel Mission in Forth Worth, TX.; at work; on the streets, and at churches as God opens the doors. WHAT'S THIS BUSINESS ABOUT BEING "SAVED" ANYWAY?. Let me answer your question with another question. Did you have to go to school to learn how to tell your first lie? Of course not! In fact, the answer to that question gives us real insight into human nature. Every one of us was born that way. Guess where we got that ugly nature? We inherited it from Adam and Eve. So we are in a real predicament. Here we are separated from God because of Adam and Eve's sin, and can't do anything about it ourselves. Well thankfully, God is a God of great love and grace and he was willing to pay an awesome price to give us the choice whether we wanted to return to him or not. This is how he did it. He took a portion of himself, stripped it of all Divine privileges and came into the world as a sinless man. His name was Jesus. He died a terrible death on a cross that purchased our salvation. All we have to do now is receive it. Confess with our mouth and believe from our heart that: 1. We repent of our sins, which means we no longer live for the devil, and will do our very best to live for God by following his guidance in the Holy Bible, (See Matthew 4:17). The very first thing Jesus preached was repentance), 2. Forgive others for the wrongs they have done to us, (See Mark 11:25-26). and 3. We confess out loud with our mouth and believe with our heart that Christ Jesus is now our personal Lord and Saviour, and we believe God raised him up from the dead. (Romans 10: 9,10). Now you're "born again!" What happens is that the Spirit of God actually enters your spirit and re-creates it taking out that old sinful nature and replacing it with God's. But since your spirit is now "born again" it means it is just a little baby and needs to grow. The next step is to be baptised in water, and then to begin growing spiritually by getting into God's Holy Bible and reading it and DOING what it says to do. You can best accomplish this by finding a Bible believing church that preaches Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to God. I was an old sinner for a long time. But one day I found myself in so much trouble no human being could help me. I called on Jesus and was SERIOUS about it. Not only did he answer, but did so quite dramatically. I was convinced experientially, but I wondered if the Bible was also true. So I told God in prayer, "I'm going to read the Bible and It had better be true!" And I found it to be amazingly accurate and just awesome. For example, read Psalm 22 when you have a chance. This was a prophecy written around 1000 years before Jesus was crucified on the cross, yet it describes the event that took place perfectly.
