Wait on the Lord
Wait on the Lord
Waiting is hard to do. Would you agree? Waiting at the red light when you’re in a hurry, or in a line at the store. We live with such modern convenience. Microwave ovens make it possible to cook a meal in a few minutes that would have taken our grandparents hours to cook. We are accustomed to getting it now.
Isaiah 40:28-31-Verse 28 makes some great observations about God-
1. He is everlasting- when we think we aren’t it is comforting to know God will always be there for us.
2. He is the creator
3. He does not faint or get weary
4. He understands all things- even when we don’t
5. He gives power to the weary and those that are ready to faint and to the weak
Have your ever felt weak and tired? Based on all God has just told us about himself in the previous verses, now he is telling us some great truths in verse 31-
If we wait on the Lord----He will renew our strength as if we were not weary or tired at all
Mount up with wings like eagles-We will be able to run and not be weary and walk and not faint. Running can be tiring, one gets out of breath, but he promises us even after running a long hard race, we will not be weary. God gives us the strength we need to carry on.
Galatians 6:9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in time we will reap if we do not grow weary. NASB
Zechariah 4:6 Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit saith the Lord KJV
Good to remember that God will always help us and give us strength even at our lowest point.
