Special Events
On June 15th we joined with our sister church in Johnson for a special Father's Day celebration. After morning services we went to Johnson and enjoyed a cookout with them. After the meal everyone met at the home of Jerrad and Alyssa Banning. There the men enjoyed some trap shooting and the women did some shooting and some fellowshipping. Afterwards everyone enjoyed some homemade ice cream.
Every time there is a fifth Sunday in a month we host a special singing. On June 29th we invited people of Faith Baptist Church in Johnson and had a wonderful time of singing and fellowship.
Our next Fifth Sunday Singing will be on August 31. On this day we will have Bro. Van Woods with us. Bro. Woods was pastor of the church in the late 60's to early 70's.
During some repairs to the church some paneling was torn out that had been water damaged from a leak in the roof. Behind the paneling we found a wall that had the signatures of everyone who was in Sunday School on Sept, 27, 1970. Several pictures have been taken and the newspaper in Syracuse is doing an article about it. We were excited by this find and we are leaving the wall open for a few weeks so people can see it. |
