Transpose oil on canvas
WELCOME TO MY WORLD OF EXAGGERATED ART.
My name is Joyce Gale,I am from the UK. I started painting twelve years ago, at a time I was feeling low. having picked up a started box of oil paints in an art shop.
At first, pictures would take me a week or two to complete as trying depicting every detail. Now they are spontaneous and I can have three in process during a week, in different stages. Of course, moods can reflect on the beginning and end and often a picture seems to take me over. I have found it good for lifting the dark days of winter, especially for seasonal disorder where yellow sometimes seems to dominate my pallet.
Wood boards are my main base which I give three coats of emulsion. I often find a canvas inhibiting. Though not so much lately.
My style changes from time to time. Often images come into my head from several ideas or I may have no concept of what to paint. I put some colours on the pallet and go from there with a few brush strokes to see if anything materialises. Sometime it's a complete mess, and I may go over it at a later date.
A special room for painting doesn't fit into my life. I spread newspaper on the dining table and paint on that. I did start with an easel at the beginning of my painting life. Now I have changed to painting, with the board flat on the table, hoping I dont drop any paint on the carpet. In this same area, I also have my computer and writing gear, along with a lovely view of my garden of birds and flowers. It is not quite as chaotic as it sounds, and the family seems to fit in around it all. They have encouraged me greatly right from the start, and love to have the paintings in their homes.
Most of my pictures feature exaggerated flowers in vases, with perhaps butterflies and birds. Some paintings are abstract perhaps of just colours.

Depression has been a part of my life. Painting has helped in my almost recovery along with an increase in my faith.
When I was in my thirties I lost my faith completely. Also becoming agrophobic. After some therapy my faith began to return along with my health. The painting and writing has been given to me by God and without him I am nothing.
I like to produce something beautiful and hope to continue to do so, putting something beautiful on the internet is my biggest achievement. Being able to do so on Our Church is good as I have yet to post a website in the usual way.
