News:

November 2, 2009.  Three big events were held right in a row at All Saints Parish: Saturday afternoon Ms. Melissa Masters and Mr. Michael Parker were united in Holy Matrimony. Fr. Hougham, with the Bishop's kind permission celebrated the nuptuals. Sunday was All Saints Day, our Patronal Celebration with Morning Prayer, Mass celebrated by Bishop Starks and a sumptuous feast in the Parish Hall. Monday was All Souls Day with Evening Prayer and Mass also celebrated by Bishop Starks. It is "only" Monday and already it has been a busy week! Evening Prayer is back "on" this week, Wednesday at 5:30 PM.

October 31st 2009 Don't forget turn your clocks BACK one hour tonight! ALL SAINTS  DAY services begin with Morning Prayer at 9:30 and Mass at 10. Also All Souls Day Mass Monay night at 530 Evening Prayer then Mass.
Provincial Synod was held this past week in Richmond, Virginia. Archbishop Haverland chaired the Synod with grace, wisdom, and humor. Even things heatedly debated were settled with polite graciousness. Present were ACC Clergy from around the globe and including Bishop Mead from the UK, Bishop Garang from Africa, and Bishop John Augustine from the Second Province (including India).
Our Diocese was well-represented both clergy and laity and many new ideas and friendships were forged. Clergy were recycling their vestments, altar appointments, and clergy shirts to Missionary Clergy. In Africa a priest who is also a tailor has begun a business of custom made clergy shirts. There were samples to see the HIGH quality of fabric and workmanship. There has been a project spearheaded by Kay Lewis of the Diocese of the South with Canon Hollister (along with the recycling project) to make vestments and appointments for the Mission Clergy at low cost: about $40-50 per church season set.
One of the frequently brought up problems at Synod was communication or lack thereof in one form or another. It is hoped that this page will help stop that gap to some degree but it is ESSENTIAL that we keep each other informed of things within our Parish and in our Diocese and Province. We realize not everyone is regularly "on" their computer (or uses one) so we need to make certain each other are informed about announcements especially when Parishioners have been absent for a Sunday.

The news is: this is a new page!

Last evening after Wednesday Mass Bishop Starks joined a lively group for supper at The Cracker Barrel. Attending were Dan G., Janice, Sandy, Dakota, Jerry S, Jer B. We had a good time and it reminded us of when we were in the midst of the never-ending remodeling and would meet there to eat and brainstorm the next project.
Next week is Provincial Synod in Richmond, VA so Evening Prayer will not be held.
Our organ is getting a wee bit temperamental not working for Mass last Sunday but firing up afterwards. An organ repairman we met had said that particular instrument has a limited life span. We are brainstorming options and will rely on the diggie and keyboard and try to make the services go a smoothly as possible.
The Sunday after next is ALL SAINTS DAY! The Bishop will be present and the Mass will be SOMETHING special. Monday evening will be All Souls Day and the Bishop is staying over to conduct that service as well. Be sure to get those names turned in of those departed you wish to have remembered. Also don't forget to set your clocks back 1 hour Saturday night!
Now that we HAVE a news page we will update it as often as possible...please send any announcements to thpeaky@aol.com.
