    Communion with God

The Apostle Paul teaches us that communion with God does not come by any spiritual action, activity, or undertaking, but from divine grace; the infinite love, mercy, favor, and goodwill shown to humankind by God.  We are to accept union with Christ by faith and
God's self-revelation,
not as something to achieve by human effort.

Galatians 1:15,16,17
15 But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace,

16 was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone;
17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.

Being "in Christ" does not involve the loss of individuality, but the enhancement of individual qualities and characteristics.  It involves a union that provides the consistent agreed to principles of correct moral conduct for Christian living. This is more than an example relating to or involving ethics, but the indwelling of Christ who provides the motive power to live in obedience to God.

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.


Romans 8:14,16

14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
