Avis Hill Ministries/Oasis/FGM
Homepage
Pastor, Evangelist & Gospel Singer
Bishop Avis Hill has been the pastor of Westgate Tabernacle, West Palm Beach, FL, since January 1997, and a minister for over 33-years. Bishop Hill comes from a long line of ministers/singers of the Gospel, including his grandfather, uncle, father, mother, and his three brothers.
OASIS International uses Westgate Tabernacle, a non-denominational church, to reach out to hurting people in one of the nation's wealthiest counties, Palm Beach. These lost sheep search for Jesus Christ; His "Word"; and/or a warm smile/handshake and acceptance without prejudgment/prejudice.
Bishop Hill's ministry has taken him to many places, including appearances on TBN's, "Praise the Lord" out of WTCE-TV Channel 21 Ft. Pierce, FL; "The Phil Donohue Show"; "60-Minutes"; "The Maury Povich Show", where he debated the atheist, Madelyn Murray O'Hair; in the "National Geographic's" July 1976 issue; before joint, Congressional Hearings in Washington, DC; on KDKA-AM Radio's John Cigna's Show out of Pittsburgh, PA; leading thousands in protest marches in several, large cities throughout the United States, during the 1970's school textbook controversies; in "The Wall Street Journal"; and, the West Palm Beach Gideons' "Pastor of the Week" in June, 2001.
As an advocate for the less fortunate, the hurting, the needy, and those without a voice of their own, such as the unborn facing abortion, Bishop Hill is a recognized Christian leader. This has brought him before other types of media. In 2001, Pastor Hill has been interviewed on a local radio station, WPBR-AM 1340, for one hour concerning the on-going Palm Beach County Zoning Board's attack on Westgate Tabernacle. Forums have been sought him with other religious leaders on the radio, within other churches and synagogues, and on college campuses. Reports/interviews on/in "Readers'Digest", "Charisma Magazine", "World Magazine", & "FOX News", out of New York, have reported on Westgate Tabernacle's plight.
He founded and opened "The Dollie Hill Christian Academy" in West Virginia. Ran for a West Virginia Congressional Seat. Plus, he owned, operated and directed WACE-TV, a 24-hour, Christian television station in West Virginia.
Through a singing ministry, "OASIS", Pastor Hill touches the lives and hearts of those who hear him. Palm Beach County, FL, can hear him regularly performing during any of the major, South Florida Fairground's events. He is also available to share his gifts and talents at revivals, fundraisers, recovery facilities, assisted-living facilities, gala events, fairs, and other non-profit and/or church ministries. Just contact him at 561-471-9309.
