3 Ways to Achieve Your Organization’s Mission Through SEO
And really any marketing initiative that your organization takes on should do exactly that. It should help you achieve your goal or your mission and SEO is no different. So, let’s go ahead and talk about the three ways that you could use SEO to achieve your mission.
The first is to bring visitors.
So, Kurt, why don’t you talk a little bit about how you could use SEO to bring visitors to your organization?
Well with SEO, the whole point of SEO is to get high rankings in the search engines; so that as people search for things that are relevant to you, they are going to find your site. So, obviously, the more key words you show up for with higher rankings the more people will find you and that will bring you more visitors.
The second way the SEO can help you achieve your mission online is to establish yourself as an expert.
So how does a getting good search ranking help you establish yourself as an expert?
It really depends on how you use SEO. If all you do is you tweak some things on your site, you target keywords and even do some basic link building, you’re not really establishing yourself as an expert. You may get good rankings, which is good, but you’re not really establishing yourself.
However, if you do SEO where you are producing content and you are putting yourself out there on the web…so, you are writing articles, you are making videos, you are communicating with people on forums…There’s all different kinds of ways in which you are able to show that you know what you are talking about, you know what’s going on. That’s going to start to establish you as an expert.
And really, as you start doing this, if you are producing quality content, which you really need to do, then other people in your niche are going to start linking back to you. If you produce an article that does a really good job explaining something about your niche, then other organizations in that niche are going to link back to you and tell their visitors,
“Hey, this is really good. This is a great explanation of this.”
And that will not only send traffic to you from these other organizations, but also they are saying,
“Look at this person. This person knows what they’re talking about.”
And that starts to establish you as that expert.
Yeah, it seems like the more that you can become engaged and start communicating with other people within that niche, that’s just going to build your …I guess view or people viewing you as an expert.
It also helps you with the third item which is creating brand awareness.
The more that you get out there the more people are going to see you and then the more they are going to know you as an organization. So, why don’t you talk a little bit about brand awareness?
That’s really what it’s about is you just being in front of them all the time. If people are doing searches about things related to your website and they just keep coming across you, they keep seeing your organization whether they are in … Yahoo or YouTube or Google or wherever, even going on other sites that are linking back to you, they keep seeing your organization name, that’s creating brand awareness. And they are going to be thinking,
“Okay, this is an expert.” or “This organization knows what they are talking about.”
And they are going to just remember you because they just keep into running into you and running into you and running into you.
As a summary the three ways to use SEO to achieve your mission:
- First, to bring visitors to your website.
- Secondly, to establish yourself as an expert.
- And then thirdly, to create brand awareness.
