How do I put links on my website?

There are three ways to add links to your site. You can create a Links page, add a link to the navigation menu, or add a link to the text (body) of a web page. Each of these methods is described below.
How do I create a Links Page?

Visit your Webmaster page. Down by the "Add" button, select "Links" from the types of pages available, then click the "Add" button. To add active links to that page, go to the form to edit the Links page and click the "Add Additional Items" button at the bottom. Then complete the form for the link you wish to add.
How do I add links to the Navigation Menu?

You can add links to the menu that appears on the left side of every page by using the Edit Navigation Menu option on the Webmaster page. On the "Edit Navigation Menu" form that follows, click the "Add Menu Item" button at the bottom of the page.
How can I add links to the body (text) of any web page?

You can create links in the body (text) of any web page, but it requires the use of HTML. Keep in mind OurChurch.Com's policy regarding HTML: You are welcome to use it at your own risk but we cannot help you develop or fix your HTML. Here's an example of a link created using HTML:

Visit OCC's homepage.

The way you would create the HTML in BEACON to show the above link is as follows:
<a href="http://www.ourchurch.com">Visit OCC's homepage</a>
.
(tells BEACON that you are switching from plain text to using HTML code) followed by <a href= (indicates a link) followed by the address of the page being linked to, in quotation marks "http://www.ourchurch.com" followed by > followed by the text you want to make clickable Visit OCC's homepage followed by </a> (to end the link and keep the rest of the text on the page from being linked as well) and ending with
to indicate you are finished writing HTML code.
I used AddMe to register my site with search engines and they want a link on my website to theirs. How do I do that?

Edit the page on which you want the link. Copy and paste the HTML into the body of the page. Be sure to surround the HTML with
and
as explained above.
I've joined a web ring. How do I put that on my website?

Edit the page on which you want the link. Copy and paste the HTML into the body of the page. Be sure to surround the HTML with
and
as explained above.
