What is the difference between the administrator's email address and our OurChurch.Com contact email address?
They are the same. There is no difference between the two. When you update one, the other is updated as well.
I have my email address for the administrator's email address, but I'd like the info from the contact form (or other forms/polls) to be emailed to someone else. Can I do that?
Yes, each one of the forms or polls, including the contact form, guestbook, prayer request, etc., have a setting that allows you to determine what email address the information is sent to. This means that you can not only have the forms sent to a different email address than the admin email address, but you can have different forms/polls sent to different addresses.
For Example: If you have a church site and you are the webmaster, the church secretary needs to record the info from the contact form, the youth director wants to have poll, and the Pastor is in charge of the blog, you can use your email address for the admin contact email, the secretary's email for the contact form, the youth minister's email for the poll, and Pastor's email address for the blog.
Can I have both a website name and a logo?
No, unfortunately you can only have one or the other. The logo appears in the same location within the template as the website name would.
I want to have a different homepage during the holidays, but I'll want to go back to my old homepage later, can I do that?
Yes, the "Default Home page" can be changed at any time and any of your website's pages can be set as the home page. In addition, you can determine which pages are being displayed on the web. So, not only can you change the home page, but you can set it so the page you were using as the home page is not being displayed as well. Then later, if you want to change back to the old home page, you can reactivate that page and change the "Default Home page" back to that page.
Do web pages not being displayed count against my page limit?
Yes, all pages you have on your website, whether displayed or not, count towards your total number of pages. So, if you have a free website and have 5 displayed pages and 3 pages not currently being displayed, that will count as having 8 of the ten pages for the site.
All premium hosting packages come with unlimited web pages. So, it will not matter if the non-displayed pages count.
Can I have my site in a language other than English?
Yes, you can write the text of your pages in just about any language you wish. You can also determine the language of your admin section by selecting the language you want to see in the "Language" setting.
If you are using a language that has unique characters not contained in the Western European languages, you should change the "META Char" setting to the appropriate language setting so the characters are displayed properly.
How do I rank well in the search engines?
This is actually a very complex question. Your rankings in the major search engines are dependent on many different elements including, META Tags, page content, other websites linking to your website, and much more. You can increase your chances of ranking well for the keywords (search terms) you would like to rank well for by using the META Tag features in the Web Builder Configuration and on each individual page. Be sure to create a relevant Title and Description for your website as well as create a list of relevant keywords for your site. You should also try to use some of those keywords in the META Title and META Description.
Another way to help your website rankings is to use the SEO Friendly feature. This will allow you to put keywords into the URL (web address) of the web pages. For the better results create a unique META Title, Description, Keyword, and SEO words for each page. WARNING!! Search engines do not like it when websites try to trick them or use keywords over and over and over… These practices should be avoided or you could be penalized by the search engines or even banned. So, keep the information for the META tags relevant to your website and only include keywords once in each META tag.
