Summary of “Important Web Design Questions”
Is your organization, whether church, business, ministry or school, looking to create a website or update an existing site? If so, you do not want to miss this informative video from Mark Steinbrueck with OurChurch.Com. In this short video Mark will share the important web design questions that you need to answer before you get started on your website project!
4 Important Web Design Questions:
1. What is the Purpose?
Knowing the purpose of your website is going to be extremely helpful when you begin to design your site. You need to have an understanding of how the site be used. For example, will it be used for selling a product, encouraging visitors to come to your church or for visitors to get more information?
2. What are the immediate and long term needs and wants?
This is a big question and Mark wisely suggests that you create a spreadsheet with four columns for immediate needs, immediate wants, long term needs and long term wants. This will give you a visual and help you make decisions for you website now and in the future.
3. How can the website work for me?
It is a valid concern that creating and maintaining a website will create an increase in someone’s work load. Many times we feel busy enough without adding something else to do! Find ways that the website can help with your current work load. For example, if you send out a newsletter, you could have the website send out an e-newsletter instead. This would cut down on time as well as printing and mailing costs!
4. Who is responsible for maintaining the site?
This is important to determine up front, as well as determining how often this person will update the site. If you set these expectations upfront you can minimize some confusion in the future.
