The AIDS Clickathon is finally underway. I really can’t express how much I’ve been looking forward to this day. I believe there is really nothing more satisfying that using your God-given gifts to make a difference in other people’s lives. Springs of Hope is going to make a life or death difference in the lives of hundreds of children in Kenya. So, for myself and our staff at OurChurch.Com to be able to use our skills and experience in online marketing as well as whatever influence we have through our blog and wonderful member sites for this purpose is just awesome!
I’m also excited because this is something completely new for us. We serve a lot of churches and charitable organizations with our web services, but we’ve never led an effort to support an organization directly. We’ve never done an online fundraiser. And we’ve never done a viral marketing campaign, where the goal was to spread the word about something through social networking sites. So, if you have any comments or suggestions please let us know.
The plan for this blog is to post regular updates about how the clickathon is going, explain the ongoing things we’re doing to spread the word about the clickathon, and share interesting stories along the way. If I can find the time, I’ll post an update at least once a day during the 4-week campaign. I hope you’ll subscribe to the RSS feed for this blog so you’ll receive the updates. If you’re like “Huh? What’s RSS?” You can subscribe to receive updates by email.
Alright, well, I’ve got a few things to do to help spread the word about the clickathon. I’ll talk more about that later, but you can read about the things we’re doing in the viral marketing strategies article published in conjunction with the clickathon.
Thanks for supporting the clickathon and Springs of Hope. Thanks for helping to spread the word. If you have any comments or ideas for additional ways we could spread the word about the clickathon, please post a comment here.
